摘要
Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS and other forms of energy storage can be used in renewable generation plants to store the generated energy at off-peak hours and injected back into the network at peak hours. This article explores the proper management of an energy storage system, and makes use of loT technology to access the energy market, and the interfaces with the power distribution company. By using this technology, the power distribution company can inject the stored energy into the grid at moments high demand or in case of voltage drop, thus providing a support to the grid. A SCADA system can be used to monitor, to warn and to connect to the internet, therefore automating the system. The focus of this article is the management of the injection of the stored energy into the grid at peaks hours and voltage drops. It was used the HOMER software for the economic analyses, so that the system acts like a renewable energy plant for the power distribution company. Nevertheless, there are some regulations that be considered.
