摘要
In this letter, a new broadband single-layer metasurface (MTS) antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) is introduced. The antenna is comprised of 5 x 5 periodic metal plates and a coplanar feed line in the ground plane. To increase the impedance bandwidth, each matrix element of the metasurface is tangent to a certain radian and the symmetric aperture is attached to the end of the CPW. The proposed antenna with an overall size of 54 mm x 54 mm x 4 mm (1.01 lambda(0) x1.01 lambda(0) x0.07 lambda(0), at 5.6 GHz) was simulated. The simulation resulted in a |S11| < -10 dB bandwidth of 3.70-7.53 GHz (68.2%) and peak gain of 7.8 dBi.
