摘要
In this work, the physically examined sodium lead calcium borate glasses doped with Pr3+ at different concentrations have been examined qualitatively to deduce the neutron moderation parameters for collimating the neutron beam in radiography. Physically examined glass samples have a nominal composition matrix of 20Na2O3-10PbO-(60-x)B2O3-xPr2O3 with 10Ca2O, 10Ba2O, and 10Sr2O substitutions. The neutron moderation properties such as effective removal cross section, relative thermal lethargy, average logarithmic energy decrement, absorption cross sections, moderation power, moderation efficiency, shared energy at each collision, and average number of collisions for all the elements, and above-mentioned glass samples have been deduced. In addition, the effective or equivalent atomic number and atomic mass for neutron interaction with the glass samples has been estimated. Obtained an interesting trend with the density of the material and analysed with a code. PACS No.: 28.20.- v; 07.05.Tp; 28.20.Cz; 28.20.Gd; 28.20.Pr; 28.41.Ak; 28.41.Pa.
