Simulating the foundations of a robust quantum-secure internet for a quantum-connected world

摘要
The advent of quantum computing brings with it a significant threat to all public key cryptographic security systems, like RSA-based and discreet log-based cryptographic systems which are currently integral to the security framework of today's financial and internet transactions. Thus the concept of a Quantum-Secure Internet, powered by multiple layers of quantum key distribution and Post-quantum cryptography emerges as a solution. We propose robust potential quantum networks involving Tree and Star architectures. These networks consist of independent keys for each link and don't require quantum repeaters. The proof-of-work simulations of their QKD layers are implemented using Network Simulator-NETSQUID to pave a path for future research to build a Quantum Secure Internet and to get deeper insights into their feasibility.
