<正>I am not an expert in Confucian or Mencius'thought,but I am intensely interested in the history of civilizations,their evolution,and their application to the challenges and opportunities we face today.In New Zealand,our Maori people have many sayings or whakatauki that we often reference."I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on my past."We can deliberately look to the past to inform the future through a Mencius lens.
