摘要
CES, an emerging composite structural system comprising FRC and steel, has been the subject of continuous and comprehensive studies with an aim of achieving its practical applications. Herein, the effects of the sectional width on the shear behaviors of CES members were experimentally studied, in which the test parameters were sectional width of FRC and steel shapes. A discussion is provided for the manner in which the ultimate shear strength of CES members should be evaluated. Additionally, a design formula on estimating the effective cross-sectional width of encased concrete is especially revised for the ultimate shear strength of CES members. © 2020 Architectural Institute of Japan.
