摘要
Data on the freezing of peatbeds in undrained lowland marshes are analyzed and generalized for the first time for conditions in the southern Tyumen Region of the U. S. S. R. The basic quantitative characteristics that determine the freezing process are obtained: the thickness of the frost layer, the rate of buildup of seasonal frost, and the thermal index of marsh freezing. The results are compared with the investigations of other authors. It is shown from analysis of results from parallel observations that the depth of frost changes as a result of drainage; a formula is derived for estimation of the frost-layer thickness in a drained peatbed.
