摘要
Electromechanical relay systems were used exclusively up to the 1970s for controlling industrial processes. However, there was a great need, particularly in the automotive industry, for flexible systems that could be used again also after model changes. It is true that the electronic control systems that rapidly replaced the electromechanical ones at that time meet the need for flexibility. However, advanced programming tasks require special languages such as Fortran, Pascal or Assembler, but these have the drawback that only computer specialists can understand them. ASEA's new programming language, Asea MasterPiece Language, on the other hand, can be used also by production and process engineers and technicians not having any special knowledge of computer technology.
