摘要：
The effect of thermal discharges on marine ecology is reviewed. Specific topics include plankton, diatoms, fish, insects, and dissolved oxygen. The author contends that appropriate installation of thermal discharge systems can promote the natural organic cycle of lakes and that thermal discharges can be put to beneficial uses in fish farming. Generally, the popular antagonism toward thermal discharges is felt to be unfounded.
