摘要
Variation of hardness of quenched specimens with quenching temperature (50-650 degree C) of alkali halide single crystals exhibits three marked regions. The dislocation density of matched pieces also exhibits three similar regions when plotted against quenching temperatures. An attempt has been made to correlate the variation of hardness with dislocation density and mechanisms of slip on quenching.
