NEW BOBBIN CHANGER.

In textile testing technology a demand exists for bobbin changers which operate fully autonomoulsy and which are capable of being used in conjunction with different testing machines. One such changer developed has its own microprocessor control system and on which the bobbin-changing process is triggered by an external signal or an internal timer. A special feature of this apparatus, which employs yarn-splicing technology, is the facility for bobbin changing while the thread is passing through. A new universal bobbin changer (Model II) employs a conventional knotter from an automatic cross-winder, which is equally suitable for zero-twist and twisted continuous-filament yarns and spun yarns. Here tying is performed while the threads are stationary. In a later stage of development the bobbin changer will optionally be equipped on-line in the direction of thread travel with a yarn feed accumulator.
