Problems associated with the lengths of burning zones in rotary kilns are considered with reference to information published in the literature and to the author's research. Equations and graphical methods for the determination of these lengths of the diameters of burner nozzles are proposed. The nozzle diameters are considered as a function of the internal diameter of the kiln and of the net calorific value of the fuel exit velocity.
