The energy parameters of a pipeline-transportation system are determined to a significant degree by transients taking place in soil during nonstationary heat exchange with a pipeline. An analytic method is proposed for calculating nonstationary heat exchange in soil; it is obtained by an asymptotic method. It is shown to be suitable for practical calculations.
