EVALUATING OFFICE LIGHTING ENVIRONMENTS.

This paper discusses the concept and measurement of lighting quality developed as part of a DOE study. It then examines the issue of visual quality and demonstrates how it is related to but distinct from lighting quality. Some preliminary findings from the analysis conducted to date are then presented. These findings cover lighting quality, visual quality, and the impact of energy use in offices on occupant responses. Finally, issues that need to be addressed in subsequent analysis of the data are outlined.
