摘要
Some Spanish structural solutions which might be considered as unusual when built are presented: cable staying of Tempul's Aqueduct, well-known work by Eduardo Torroja built in the South of Spain in 1924; use of small brick elements for different purposes; polgonal prestressing ring used in R. C. spherical caps to support horizontal thrust produced by a dome; spherical dome for an Exhibition Hall in Barcelona; thin prefabricated shell elements for the roof of a buried water tank, made by vacuum concreting; use of void concrete vaults at a very skew intersection of the two roads in a highway which results in a better solution both from an economical and aesthetic point of view; longitudinal prestressing of long aqueducts without using prestressing steel; one system of prestressing tank walls without prestressing tendons, by concrete injection of the walls after filling the reservoir, in order to achieve a non reinforced wall without tension stresses under the maximum tank loading.
