Facing innovation: preparing lecturers for English-medium instruction in a non-native context

The implementation of English-medium instruction by non-native speaking lecturers to non-native speaking students is one of the most recent innovation processes in Dutch-higher education. The impact of this innovation process on non-native teaching staff is yet unknown. At Delft University of Technology training has been developed to support the teaching staff in the implementation process. In this paper the effect of the training on the teaching staff will be discussed against the background of the innovation process. © 2001, Copyright Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
