摘要
ATTEMPTO was designed as a fault-tolerant multiprocessor workstation, and its design concepts have already been presented. Today, some progress in implementing a real experimental system can he reported. This paper gives an overview of the current project work and system design. Special focus is made on some implementation details of the workstation concept, i.e. the modular architecture of the system software providing fault tolerance, and the interaction between distributed system processes for the purpose of fault masking and user job dispatching.
