摘要
This paper dealt with the main results of studies on pure copper α brass CuZn 20, and 316 L stainless steel i.e., single phase alloys used in marine applications. A new cavitation erosion test device, producing a vortex cavitation, was extensively used. This apparatus is called Cavitation Vortex Generator (C.V.G.) and is able to produce a realistic cavitation erosion very similar to that observed on ship propellers and hydraulic machinery. The C.V.G. has been used to determine the mass loss curves, the erosion rate curves, incubation period and the maximum erosion rate.
