CALCULATION OF THE EFFECTIVE SOLID ANGLE OF AN EXTENDED RADIATION SOURCE.

摘要
In order to calculate the effective solid angle of an extended circular source with a circular iris, a series is derived which allows the analysis to be restricted to the first two nonzero terms with a computation accuracy of at worst tenths of a percent in the majority of practical cases. Based on the derived formulas the possible errors in the magnitude of the effective solid angle are calculated as functions of the geometric dimensions of the system for random errors of the source diameter and its distance from the iris.
