Can personal protective clothing influence the risk-taking behaviour of firefighters?

Local Authorities in England and Wales (UK) are required by the Fire Services Act 1947 to provide and maintain fire brigades. This legislation also requires Authorities to provide equipment and training to the firefighters employed. This paper will deal with responsibilities placed on employers to recognise that, in providing personal protective equipment to employees, a proportion of the duty to train them is not being met. Whilst law in England and Wales it is likely that a similar duty exists in other regulated countries.
