摘要
The manufacturing processes, chemical compositions and mechanical properties of four steels differing in sulfur content are summarized. The authors report on the behavior of these steels in electrolytic solutions simulating the wet environment which may corrode prestressed wires. Hydrogen buildup on the surface of the steels appears possible, but no difference related to the sulfur content was observed. However, the detrimental effect of sulfide inclusions upon localized corrosion was noted.
