摘要
Study of the ocular damage mechanism plays a crucial role in the laser medical treatment and to formulate laser protection standard. Taking 1.06 μm Nd glass laser and an example of near-infrared laser to sum up and analyze the ED data for picosecond ultrashort pulsed lasers, the authors pointed out that on the hand the damage mechanism of strong electric field of lasers can explain some problems which cannot be explained by thermal damage mechanism, while on the other hand no enough evidence is available at present to prove its existence. Further steps are needed to show more experimental evidence.
