DIGITAL MICROWAVE IN LOCAL DISTRIBUTION.

Local radio distribution systems are evolving in the direction of digitalization. There are four distinct, major bit rate classes, according to the service required by the user. Cases where it is particularly advantageous to use radio in the local distribution network are analyzed. Available frequency bands for local networks are reviewed. Different distribution modes for radio system transmitting channels are set forth. Lastly, the implications for these systems, with relation to line of sight constraints, are discussed.
