摘要
IR transmission spectra of polyvinyl chloride with or without an emulsifier have been investigated in presence of bis-quaternary ammonium salts. Adsorption phenomena at the surface of polyvinyl chloride globules comprise an interaction between salt ions both with the emulsifier and with the hydrophobic surfaces of PVC globules. This is confirmed by the appearance of an absorption band at 1035 multiplied by (times) 10**2 m** minus **1, assigned to the PVC-salt adsorption complex, and also by the heats determined for the wetting of PVC disperse phase with water. The micelle-forming process is competitive with respect to adsorption at the PVC surface.
