摘要
This article describes a compressed air sprayer designed to apply desired amounts of chemical or biological pesticides to crops. The sprayer has separate tanks for water and pesticides. The fluids, delivered under constant air pressure, are mixed as needed in a mixing chamber during spraying. Field results indicated that the spray application was satisfactory and much of the wastage of tank-mixed pesticides was eliminated. Potential benefits to farmers would be (1) a substantial savings on pesticide costs, and (2) potential for reduction of groundwater pollution caused by leaching of the unused tank-mix if it is dumped on the soil.
