摘要
A compressed-xenon ionization chamber is described. Questions of monitoring gas purity are examined. The best resolution obtained in the experiments is 1. 5% for a gamma energy of 1. 115 Mev. Average energies of ion production in Xe of 2. 14 plus or minus 0. 3, 21. 1 plus or minus 0. 3, and 20. 8 plus or minus 0. 3 ev are determined for pressures of 1. 5, 2. 8, and 4. 1 MPa, respectively.
