A theoretical analysis is made of the possibility of amplification and generation of surface electroacoustic Gulyaev-Bleustein oscillations by carriers drifting at right-angles to an interface between nonpiezoelectric and piezoelectric semiconductors. It is shown that an instability may appear for different ratios of the electron drift and acoustic wave velocities. The growth rate is calculated. An analysis is also made of an instability of surface acoustic waves resulting from incidence of a plasma wave on a piezoelectric.
