摘要
Views about the significance of oxygen concentration, which is an important value in feed water principles have changed decisively in recent years. From a harmful material, the use of which is to be strictly limited, oxygen, mostly in the form of hydrogen peroxide, has become a conditioning agent, of which under certain conditions a constant concentration is required. A brief historical account is given to show that this change of views does not constitute a sudden about-face but that a certain process of evolution was at work in this case. The mode of operation of oxygen conditioning is described in terms of its chemical reactions, and its limits are specified. In conclusion, this new type of conditioning is compared with that used hitherto.
