The degree of purity of commercial flotation reagents, as might be expected, can have a profound effect on their performance. The impurities can arise through aging (decomposition, deliquescence or instability in the presence of moisture), may have been introduced purposely to ensure reagent stability or may be inherent in the manufacturing process.
