摘要
The effect of an inhomogeneous plasma concentration on the spatial evolution of space charge waves in a modulated electron electron beam is analyzed. The method of modulation, the sign and the magnitude of the concentration gradient are shown to exert a significant influence on the process in question. Amplification of the initial modulation is possible if a fast space charge wave is excited in the beam.
