Finely divided dusts and fumes are removed from air streams by fabric filters with higher efficiency than in alternative types of separators. an indication of the processes involved in such separations is given. Developments in fabric manufacture and in filter construction and operation permit continuous operation without significant periods of reduced air flow while collected dust is recovered; possible future developments in the application of fabric filters are indicated.
