Noise abatement methods on machinery with rapid movements, such as presses, is considered. Using the method of Laplace transformation, the pushing actions of circular and rectangular plates are calculated. By monitoring the paths of plates and a sphere the contact forces were calculated during blows. Noise, generated by railroad wheels in contact with rails, was particularly studied.
