Trends and Problems in Applications of Epoxy Cast Resins in Electrical Engineering.

Some examples of the application of cast epoxy composition in the Polish electrical engineering industry were presented and quality of the Polish-made raw materials used in these compositions was characterized. A brief description of the actual technology of cast epoxy resins processing in Poland was given and the present status and development trends in new methods, in particular those of modern pressure casting and injection casting, were discussed. The problems encountered in manufacturing large epoxy casting with metallic inserts were illustrated on the example of insulating elements in medium-voltage switchboards with air-space insulation.
