LINK WITH THE FUTURE.

Linkspans enjoy a number of benefits not shared by all forms of port equipment, among them mobility, simplicity and economy. However, one factor may be holding back the spread of the linkspan and this concerns problems of standardization due to the multiplicity of ro-ro vessel types. It was to overcome this hurdle that a technical committee of the British Standards Institution (BSI) recently drew up a study document for circulation within the ISO, entitled, 'Roll-on/roll-off ship-to-shore connection - Interface between terminals and ships with straight stern bow ramps'.
