The paper presents guidelines to select cross-sectional configurations and plate thicknesses for an economical and safe design for north-light folded plate structures in the span range of 15 m to 30 m. For a given span, forty-eight different cross-sections have been analyzed by finite strip method. An optimal design for a given span has been recommended.
