摘要：
The deosition of solid substances by gas phase chemical reactions has opened new possibilities to the modern surface coatings. After years of research applied to specialized applications, the CVD (chemical vapor deposition) technique has now reached the stage of general industrial utilization, which includes large components and tooling components. The stage of progress is outlined and some examples of applications are described.
