Scrap paper export prices up 31 percent

The prices of scrap paper exported to the US for the first two months of year 2000 increased by 31 percent compared to the same period the previous year. While the prices in February were at the highest level since November 1995, February exports dropped 8.3 percent from January. However, shipments for the two-month period remained 22.7 percent above the same period in 1999.
