LIGHT ON THE HORIZON - OR A FALSE DAWN?

A survey was recently carried out on the Foundry Industry of the North West of England. A general view of the current status of the region's industry is provided particularly in terms of operating methods, current manufacturing activity and planned foundry developments. While conditions are far from ideal and some foundries continue to operate at the limit of their endurance, most are now noticing a definite firm improvement in trading conditions and by careful reorganization and judicious capital investment are seeking to re-establish sound economic foundations on which to build for the future.
