LNG STORAGE ENCLOSED IN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE SAFETY WALLS.

Part 1 of this article on LNG enclosure design discusses the safety provisions imposed on Nederlandse Gasunie for LNG storage tanks at the firm's LNG plant in the Rotterdam-Maasvlakte area, and shows how these provisions resulted in the enclosure of two LNG tanks in prestressed concrete safety walls. Details of the design criteria used and the wall and foundation slab design are given.
