摘要
The light signals in laser diodes are produced by directly modulating the diode current. In the GHz range this results in resonance disturbance in the modulation frequency characteristic, as well as in relaxation oscillations and light intensity noise. The older laser types generate additionally sharp modulation nonlinearities, self-oscillations and excessive noise. New structures with dielectric guides avoid these parasitic effects.
