摘要
The information of system performance is very important to the user, designer, and manager during the design, development, and operation of a system. The development of a large-scale and complex system must rely on formal evaluation methods for making judgments and decisions inherent in the system development process. System performance evaluation is used to verify whether a system can satisfy the performance requirements. It should consider both performance satisfiability and evaluation suitability. In this paper a practical process to integrate time and logic dimensions for system performance evaluation is developed. The applications of the practical process not only help gather, filter, and aggregate the performance information to control the system performance satisfiability in the time dimension but also provide a systematic evaluation process to ensure evaluation suitability in the logic dimension. These two dimensions are integrated by the systems evaluation team through initiation of the evaluation request. The eventual objective of the practical process is to ensure the effective output of a system with satisfiable performance. To illustrate the usage of the practical process, the evaluation of the multiplexing schemes of a Customer's Premises Node designed by Telecommunication Laboratories in Taiwan is presented.
