Detailed optical studies of several banana-shaped compounds in liquid crystal B2 phase

Optical tilt angle was measured as a function of temperature in a compound possessing a 59 K wide B2 phase window. It was found that the tilt angle is independent of temperature over a 59 K temperature range to within the resolution of 1°.
