摘要
The author shows how an analysis of pipeline systems that makes use of breakout tankage can help in planning the location, size, and number of tanks. A description of how the breakout tanks are used by a common-carrier products pipeline in its routine operations is presented to help answer a number of questions raised about pipeline tankage. The technique presented here would be useful in the design of tank farms in pipeline systems.
