Script recognition is discussed, along with new application possibilities of automation in finding innovative solutions to pattern recognition, which is partly due to integrated circuits and data processing. Single character and character string recognition as well as text comprehension are considered. The principle of pattern recognition can also be applied to speech recognition and image processing. As an example, cell image processing is mentioned which was used within the scope of a cancel cell research project.
