摘要：
The coating of zooplankton with calcium in hypereutrophic, polluted Onondaga Lake, NY, was documented by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray energy spectrometry. The epilimnion of the lake is continuously oversaturated with respect to the solubility of calcite. The coating phenomenon may have ecological implications.
