The problem of selecting the optimal properties of semiconductor materials used in fabricating MTEG (miniature thermoelectric generator) batteries is examined. Low-temperature BiTe solid solutions or high-temperature materials in the form of Si-Ge alloys are used as the semiconductor materials. It is found that the dependence of the volume occupied by the thermoelectric battery of a miniature thermoelectric generator on the alloying impurity concentration has the form of a parabola with shallow minimum.
