摘要
In this paper, the preparation of intermetallic compound FeTi from ilmenite by hydrolytic coprecipitation-reduction method is presented. Ilmenite was reduced to form FeTi without separation of iron and titanium in the ore. The structure of FeTi was determined by X-ray crystallographic method. The FeTi thus prepared can be easily activated and then it exhibits excellent absorption ability for hydrogen. The hydride formed has the composition corresponding to FeTiH//1//. //9//5.
