A millimeter-wave heating equipment based pulsed Gyrotron Oscillator for materials processing has been established and applied to sintering of Al 2O3, ZnO, Nd2Ti3O9 ceramics and the synthesises of LiMn2O4 spinels respectively. The theoretic density measurement as well as XRD and SEM analyses for Al2O3, ZnO, Nd2Ti3O9 and the spinels have been completed. The results show that the thermal effect and non-thermal effect of the interaction of the millimeter-wave field with materials is very important for raising heating rate, lowering processing temperature and improving the characteristics of the materials.
