The process of texture formation during hot rolling of alloy Fe-3% Si is studied under conditions of repeated deformation. The peculiarities of the formation of textural inhomogeneity over the cross-section of deformed polycrystalline and single crystal specimens are analyzed. It is found that the central layers of the metal contain components peculiar to the rolling texture of materials with bcc lattice. The orientations formed in the surface layers are rotated by 30-35 degree relative to those in the central layers about an axis parallel to the cross direction. By changing the initial textural state of the metal and the temperature and deformation parameters of rolling, it is possible to control the shape of the distribution and the ratio of the different textural components in the hot-rolled strips.
