Application of Brazing and Diffusion Brazing in a Vacuum Furnace for Bonding of Copper to Stainless Steel and a Titanium Alloy.

摘要
The advantages of brazing and diffusion brazing for assembling parts are illustrated by two examples. Because of electrolytic nickel plating of a stainless steel, it was possible to obtain in a vacuum furnace a quasi-perfect copper-to-stainless steel brazed joint. Diffusion brazing has been used for titanium parts instead of diffusion welding because the tensile properties are good and because diffusion brazing was more appropriate from the point of view of the microgeometrical surface condition.
